Everyday, I am confronted with young and dynamic youngsters, who seek appointment for marketing of their film or TV Projects, as in any case they are going on shooting floor in next 25-30 days. They have already signed this or that Music Director and their budget is around Rs.1 to 3 crores. In my career in Entrepreneurship, Banking and Media ,I have seen so many of such projects being doomed to trash cans that I prefer not to give appointment to such people now. As you can awaken a person, who is sleeping but not to one, who is sleeping in acting .These are all group of people ,who are avoiding the facts of business. Please ,if you have the money or resources and you wish to make a FILM/TV or any project, kindly consider facts, as under;
1] A Struggling or Established Director or Actor, who tells you that, he /she will bring you definite recovery, is a liar. Mahesh Manjrekar is one such Director that is why even Sanjay Datt gave up doing films for him. There are many AD’S, Chief AD’S roaming like cockroaches in market, when you have money, why you should even talk to them?
2] Why there is so much hurry to go to shooting floor? And why you are doing casting before budgeting and recovery potential report ?
3] Working on script and marketing in guidance of consultants always saves you lots of money, energy, and total loss, which you ensure by beginning and finishing the shooting. Everybody has gone home and now you are alone wit CANS of your dream project , right between the Jungle of Brokers and Distributors, with every Trial Show, your film will be labeled stale and only third class Brokers will release your film by your money only to make it sure that you loose your one to three crores with interest and shame.
4] WHAT IS THIS BRANDING AND IN FILM PUBLICITY FIASCO?
It has become fashionable for every filmmaker that they add sub heads like Branding and In Film under Recovery. There are agents/agencies, who informs you that X Film of Yash Chopra or Y film of U-TV earns so many crores in Branding, in film publicity etc., matter of fact is this is true but only for star makers, star actor-producers and renowned production houses. As an 5,0000 crore of brand holder of any product, have I gone sick to be associated and throw money to film of armatures, which has no guarantee of release.
It is not that you can’t make a movie, as a newcomer ,surely you can but you got to study ,you got to prepare, you got to ensure the recovery, and please don’t go to shoot before you understand, what is it all about to sell a film or you will be deprived of your undergarments.

How one will make such report?
What assumptions one need to undertake?
Which data sources can be referred?
What if some new script or concept is under consideration?
In that case how will you assume target customer?
